OBJECTIVE

Deliver a new augmented sound experience through the manifestation of a brand as a new product.

THE SOUNDTRACK TO OUR LIFE

Music has a powerful and invisible effect on our experience, such that psychologists have developed a term called the ‘reminiscence bump’.  It’s used to describe when your emotional and durable implicit memory is woken when you hear music from your past that was tied to a heightened moment of your life.

At the same time, our world is alive with melody, music can be found everywhere, we're surrounded by a symphony of idle chatter, footfalls, and the thrum of ambient traffic.

Can we use music to heighten ephemeral everyday moments?

What if we use those moments create music?

Without music to decorate it, time is just a bunch of boring production deadlines or dates by which bills must be paid

MAGIC

Okay, so maybe it's a bit more complex than this... Let's break it down.

FORM INSPIRATION

For form inspiration I looked to classic examples of where the paradolia phenomenon occurs, as well as the ephemeral imagery created by GAN Neural networks.

Additionally I did an audit of soundcloud's digital presence and strove to capture their overall color ratios and sophisticated gradient opacity transitions.

Pareidolia (/pærɪˈdoʊliə/ parr-i-DOH-lee-ə) is the tendency to interpret a vague stimulus as something known to the observer, such as seeing shapes in clouds, seeing faces in inanimate objects or abstract patterns, or hearing hidden messages in music.
